Beyond the finish line

Running for a cause.

None of these races are about a personal best or a target pace. Every marathon here is one that ties fitness to something bigger — a community, an NGO, a cause that needed the mile more than I did. This is a small slice of the 15 Full Marathons (42.2km) I've completed to date.

Tata Mumbai Marathon

Rural & tribal healthcareWomen's empowermentChild education
Tata Mumbai Marathon

Ran as part of TMM's “United We Run” movement — the country's largest sporting platform for philanthropy. Its top fundraising NGO for 14 years running, Shrimad Rajchandra Love and Care, puts its Mumbai Marathon proceeds into free multi-speciality medical camps for underserved rural and tribal communities, alongside a centre of excellence for women and children's education initiatives. Across the two editions I ran, the marathon backed 270+ and then 309 NGOs spanning healthcare, education, and women's empowerment.

₹53.62 Cr raised event-wide in 2025, ₹60.68 Cr in 2026 — the event’s reported totals, not my individual fundraising.

NMDC Hyderabad Marathon

2024 · 2025 · 2026
Tribal empowermentBlood disorder careAutism & disability care
NMDC Hyderabad Marathon

The 2026 edition brought 184 young tribal runners from Bastar's mining villages — Bailadila, Sukma, Dantewada, Bijapur — to the start line alongside me. Many had trained barefoot on village roads; NMDC gave them running shoes, kits, coaching, travel, and stay, turning it into several runners' first-ever city marathon and, for a few, a possible path into competitive athletics. In the editions before, the funds I ran alongside supported Blood Warriors Foundation's fight against thalassemia and Divi's Foundation's autism and disability care for children.

₹2 Cr+ raised for 40 NGOs (2024) and ₹1.4 Cr for 29 NGOs (2025); the 2026 edition targeted ₹3 Cr across 35 NGO partners.

Wipro Bangalore Marathon

Ran the full marathon in the same edition where the event's Charity 10K channelled support to NGOs like Ananya Trust, Thayi Mane, and the Bangalore Schools Sports Foundation — groups working with underprivileged and vulnerable children on shelter, education, and access to sport.

₹45 Lakh+ raised cumulatively through the Charity 10K over the years.

Freshworks Chennai Marathon

Ran the 2026 edition, where FCM Charities partnered with five NGOs across health, education, environment, sports, and arts — Bhumi (education for underprivileged children), the Environmentalist Foundation of India (reviving freshwater bodies and afforestation), Hope Ladder Sports Foundation (developing athletes from economically disadvantaged backgrounds), NalandaWay Foundation (art and play for disadvantaged children), and the Tamil Nadu Type 1 Diabetes Foundation (funding insulin for those who can't afford it).

FCM '25 Charities recorded the event's highest-ever fundraising across its five NGO partners.

Kaveri Trail Marathon

2024 · 2025
Access to running cultureCommunity building
Kaveri Trail Marathon

India's oldest trail marathon, organised by Runners For Life along the Kaveri near the Ranganthittu Bird Sanctuary. Its cause is less about a cheque and more about opening world-class trail running to everyday runners, not just elites, and building a running community from the ground up.

Vizag Navy Marathon

2025 · training for 2026
Naval families' welfareChildren with disabilitiesEarly childhood education
Vizag Navy Marathon

Conducted by the Indian Navy with the Naval Wives Welfare Association (Eastern Region), the run's Sankalp component stands behind NWWA's work — crèches for naval families, the Sankalp school for differently-abled children, and an early-childhood education programme run jointly with TISS.

Oxfam Trailwalker

A 100km, team-based “walkathon for a cause” — funds raised go directly into Oxfam India's work on gender justice and economic inequality across some of the country's poorest states.

Impact details and fundraising figures above are each event's or NGO's own publicly reported information — shared here to point at the cause behind the race, not to claim credit for it.
